A Backyard Family Ranch Wedding in Springfield, Oregon

Julia and Taylor knew from the get-go they wanted to get married on their family property. As the bride's childhood home it was a special location and was plenty big enough to host their 300+ special guests ensuring ALL their friends and family could be there to celebrate with them!

They opted for a colorful pastel palette with an emphasis on blue + white florals. To bring that element in- Julia selected a wallpaper pattern from Rifle Paper Co. for me to incorporate into the signage elements! A gorgeous hydrangea backdrop (perfect for this late August wedding) was the perfect nod to florals and elevated the picturesque farmhouse setting. Matching the seating chart wall to the guestbook sign and bar sign pairings brought the different locations together, letting guests know the spaces had been designed with purpose and adding a cohesive element whether you were grabbing a drink at the bar or finding your name on the custom-built wall.

Because it was an expansive property it was important to determine boundaries within the space and clearly define elements of the evening for guests. The Birdie June team did this with ease and had multiple lounging areas, a bar station in between the ceremony and reception areas, tents over the patio for dinner and even a bull riding machine for some evening entertainment.

With such a large guest count we kept the table signage simple, opting for placecards only for the large bridal table and cute but simple torn-edge paper table numbers with blue watercolor table names. These were perfectly complimented by the colorful mismatched china.

The weather was perfect and the party lasted long into the night (as you can do with private property weddings) and guests were even surprised with the arrival of a late night ice cream truck! Julia danced all night in her custom wedding gown from the local seamstress The Fitting Parlor and Gypsy Blue Florals added life and color to the already gorgeous property!
